Mom's lease on her Caddy is up this summer. At the NY auto show yesterday, she decided to look at new car possibilities. Stepdad now works at M-B, so she can now afford a C or CLA. She hates the C, doesn't like the CLA "Why have a mercedes if it's only going to be the base model? I want bells and whistles!", an actual quote from her, can't say I blame her. She decided she wants a convertible now (she's wanted one for like 5 years now) Narrowed it down to the Beetle, the Mini, the 500, and MAYBE the Mustang (although, she doesn't want RWD again and would prefer a 4cyl) She likes the Fiat, especially the 1957 Edition, but there's no fiat stores near us and she's "afraid of death" due to the size. The Mini she doesn't mind, but she does go grocery shopping and go for "girl's night out" often, so that's a bit of a stretch (although she likes the outgoing Clubman). The Beetle however, completely grabbed her ("I'm looking for a car that will jump out at me") and HELD her attention. She loves the interior, the styling, and it has plenty of room for her, now all she has to see is if she can afford one. Other cars that grabbed her attention, but she's not too into further pursuing: Toyobaru twins (backseat is too small), WRX (no heated seats), STi (may be too expensive), and Miata (only a 2 seater). I think my mom is a secret Jalop.

I love the Beetle convertible. I say get her in a TDI or R-Line, and unleash her unto the world. The 1.8T is out now too in the base model, but they're currently having issues with the 1.8T/6AT combo.

The GSR version looks pretty cool. Theres been one sitting on my local VWs lot for a month now.

Haha! I'm actually 14. I don't like to post my age in some of the higher up threads because one time I did (in Tinychat) and people started freaking out.
